SRV Status Network volume manager for macOS
↗ App Store

Getting started

  1. Install the app and launch it.
  2. Open the menu bar item to review mounted volumes and current network targets.
  3. Create a profile with one or more mount targets such as smb://host/share.
  4. Optionally save mount credentials, configure reconnect rules, and enable automatic mounting of the active profile at launch.
  5. Use discovery to find compatible hosts on your local network and copy suggested URLs into a profile.
  6. Use the menu bar view to mount, reconnect, safely eject, search, pin, group, and rename entries.

Tip: Run Diagnostics for the active profile if a target stays offline or does not reconnect as expected.

Troubleshooting

  1. Offline volume shows up but reconnect fails: Ensure the remote host is reachable, then try reconnecting from the row menu or mount the active profile again. If the server is slow, SRV Status uses a non-blocking mount to avoid UI hangs, so retrying after a few seconds can help.
  2. No capacity shown for network volumes: Capacity is only displayed when available. SRV Status avoids blocking network calls on the main thread and populates capacity asynchronously where possible.
  3. How do profiles work? Create a profile with target URLs (for example smb://host/share). You can batch-mount the active profile from the menu, mount it automatically at launch, import or export profiles, and save credentials for supported network targets.
  4. Can SRV Status discover servers? Yes. The app can discover compatible hosts on the local network and suggest URLs you can copy into a profile.
  5. What do diagnostics do? Diagnostics run manual checks against the active profile and report whether targets are mounted or reachable. They do not poll continuously in the background.
  6. How does automatic reconnect work? You can enable reconnect and define rules such as reachable host, VPN requirement, interface, Wi-Fi, weekdays, and time window. Recovery retries apply to supported network targets and continue in the background until the configured limit is reached.
  7. Why do notifications not appear? Enable Notify on mount/unmount in the app and make sure notifications for SRV Status are allowed in macOS System Settings.
