Privacy Policy
VaultBar processes files, settings, and history locally on your Mac.
Data Collection
VaultBar does not collect personal data or send information to any server. The app processes only local data and preference information needed to function.
What Information Is Processed
VaultBar processes only what is necessary to operate and display details inside the app, including:
- Selected file paths, names, extensions, and related metadata needed for routing, output naming, and file replacement
- File contents, streamed in chunks during encryption and decryption, and not retained after completion
- Temporary working data and output files used for atomic writes, cleaned up on completion or next launch
- Passwords you enter, held only in memory for the current operation
- Biometric access protected through macOS Keychain and Touch ID
- Recovery keys you generate or import, stored locally on your Mac unless you export them
- Preferences you set, such as KDF profile, chunk size, output behavior, and UI options, stored locally
- Job metadata kept locally for the optional recent-history view, which you can clear at any time
- Folder access you grant through security-scoped bookmarks, stored locally for reuse
All processing happens locally on your device and is never transmitted.
Data Storage
App settings, history, and granted folder bookmarks are stored locally on your Mac. If you use iCloud, Apple may sync some preferences across your devices. VaultBar does not use its own cloud service.
