Privacy Policy
We care about your privacy and keep things simple: your data stays on your device.
Data Collection
VaultBar does not collect personal data or send information to servers.
The app collects no personal data; it processes only local informations and preference data needed to function.
What Information Is Processed
Vaultbar processes only what’s necessary to operate and display details inside the app, including:- Selected files paths, names, sizes, timestamps, and extensions (for job routing and renaming).
- File contents, streamed in chunks during encryption/decryption; not retained after completion.
- Temporary working data and output files used for atomic, in-place writes; cleaned up on completion.
- Secrets you provide: passwords and keys live only in memory; biometric keys stay in the Secure Enclave and are never exported.
- Recovery keys you generate are saved only where you choose (local/external storage).
- Preferences you set (KDF profile, chunk size, UI options), stored locally (e.g., UserDefaults).
- Job metadata (start/finish time, bytes processed, result) kept locally for history; you can clear it anytime.
- Access you grant to folders (security-scoped bookmarks), stored locally for reuse.
- Optional, non-personal diagnostics (e.g., macOS version/build) to tune performance; never transmitted.
All processing happens locally on your device and is never transmitted.
Data Storage
App settings and preferences are stored locally. If you use iCloud, Apple may sync your settings across your devices. This syncing is provided and controlled by Apple’s iCloud services.
